Angela Merkel német kancellár és Nicolas Sarkozy francia elnök pénteki berlini sajtótájékoztatójukon elmondták, hogy nagyon fontos lenne egy gyors megoldás az euró stabilitása miatt.

Azt szeretnénk, ha számíthatnánk a magánhitelezőkre önkéntes alapon, mondta Merkel, hozzátéve: egy ilyen lépés koordináláshoz szükség van az Európai Központi Bankra is.

Németország korábban azt javasolta, hogy a magánbefektetők 30 milliárd euróval járuljanak hozzá a második kisegítő tervhez, amely várhatóan 120 milliárd eurós program lesz.

Június 23-a és 24 között Brüsszelben rendezik az EU-csúcsot, ahol az európai vezetők dönteni fognak Görögország kisegítéséről.

Germany, France suggest that private investors aid Greek bailout

BERLIN, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Germany and France have suggested that private investors should share part of the burden of the next round of bailouts for financially troubled Greece on a "voluntary basis."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, speaking at a news conference here Friday, said a quick solution to the Greek debt crisis is important for the stability of the euro.

"We want the participation of private creditors on a voluntary basis," Merkel told reporters, adding that such a move would have to be coordinated with the European Central Bank (ECO).

Germany earlier suggested that private investors put 30 billion euros into the second bailout plan, which was expected to reach 120 billion euros. France and the ECO rejected the proposal.

A European summit will be held in Brussels on June 23-24, when EU leaders will sign off on the new bailout plan for Greece. Enditem
